Greetings Everyone!
We will be continuing our work with F/OSS graphics applications Wednesday, July 21, , wrapping up our trip through the GIMP, and moving on to Inkscape. As always we'll have time at the start of the meeting for anyone's comments or questions or problems.
One thing new about this meeting is that it's going to be "broadcast" or "streamed" over DimDim.com. I experimented with this service at this month's WNYLUG meeting, and several people at remote locations, including a class at ITT, were able to access the meeting.
For anyone joining this session remotely, you will be able to see the presenter in a small video window in your browser, and hear the presenter and hopefully discussion around the table - Jack, it might be best to meet in 109 to keep things close - and will be able to see the presenter's screen - just as seen by the presenter, and on the projection screen - making it full screen, and even viewing it on your LCD television if you're set up for that.
With my MacBook Pro, I would be able to drag the presenter's shared screen onto my large LG television, and leave the Web page with its video window of the presenter, list of people checking in and out, and the all-way chat window all on the laptop screen. I've even got a surround-sound system in the TV/media cabinet below the panel for amplified reproduction of the ambient sound of the meeting. Cool!
