Sysprep and converting an installed verison of Windows to a VM
«

Does anybody on this forum have experience with converting an installed version of Windows XP to a virtual machine?
I do not have any Windows Install discs. They did not come with my notebook.
Part of the process involves getting some sysprep files for the converter(VMware Standalone Converter) to use. These are in deploy.cab (which I found and downloaded) and are part of a system for preparing one version of Windows for installation on many machines (cloning).
If anyone here understands that process, maybe they can shed some light on what I am trying to do.
Thanks.

I'm still not very experienced, but I got it to work. If anybody needs it, I can try to reconstruct the gory details.
