Thunderbird 3 Issues In Ubuntu 10.10

I've noticed that in Ubuntu 10.10 whenever I try to insert some images into a Thunderbird 3 email message that I am composing that my computer freezes up and I have to do a cold shutdown by pressing my power button. Also sometimes when I receive some emails with pictures attached my graphics get screwed up and I have to reload my compiz window manager. Why could this be happening.

Never experienced any problems with Thunderbird at all, in any of its versions.  I'd try uninstalling and re-installing it to see if something got buggered along the way.  Tell me more about changes to your OS, if any, and your computer and I can do a search for clues, but going through http://www.google.com/linux and searching for thunderbird hangs or pictures crash thunderbird or something should turn up anyone else who has experienced that behavior, and hopefully a solution...
