We all love those free Wi-Fi spots when we are away from home and office. There are dangers lurking in many Wi-Fi locations, from snooping to bogus Hotspots. They are all intended to view and potentially steal your private information included credit card numbers and passwords.

One great defense against these threats is the use of a VPN service.  I provided info in a prior post that is very helpful on why you need a VPN, along with some good deals on VPN services.  Here is a recent online article which explains how free Hotel Wi-Fi can be dangerous without a VPN.

Here's the link to my prior post on VPN's;  http://www.wnycomsoc.org/community/index.php/topic,1291.0.html

Also, make sure you have a current Anti-Virus program;  http://www.wnycomsoc.org/community/index.php/topic,1292.msg1842
