Be careful what you download

For those of you who have cell phones that can transfer files between your phone and a computer be careful what you download off the Internet and transfer from your computer to the phone.

I recently downloaded two free mp3 ringtones from the Internet to my my computer. I scanned them for malware using my nod32 antivirus and Malwarebytes. The scans found no malware so I transferred the ringtones from my computer to my cell phone.

Soon after I put the ringtones on my phone I started getting unwanted advertisements (I have an Internet block on my phone.). I took the tones off my mobile device and still kept getting the advertisements. To get rid of this unwanted spam I had to do a reset of my phone back to factory defaults.

The bottom line here is that what you download off the Internet can put adware, etc. on your mobile device as well as on a PC.
