To prevent future Ransomware on your PC, please follow these steps:

 1. Backup your computer immediately

You should have a backup of your data of an external hard drive. This will save you from significant stress, time and money in the event when your computer becomes infected.

2. Immediately update
your Windows with the recently released fix.

3. Do not in any case click suspicious links in emails and on websites. Ransomware can infect computers via phishing emails, malicious website advertisements or through the installation of unverified software. Avoid clicking them.

4. Use a firewall. Activate a DNS Firewall from within the VPN settings. Additionally, install a firewall software or turn it on it if you have one.

5. Make sure you keep your software updated. Update your VPN, your firewall and anti-virus software regularly. Developers usually launch patches that fix vulnerabilities and help to prevent leaks.
